After having failed miserably at both Sunderland and Inter, Ricky Alvarez is set to embark on a new adventure. Goal Argentina reports that the Argentine will sign for Porto. The player has already completed his medical, and will sign a contract with the Portuguese club. The details are unknown at this point, and Porto’s transfer window closes on September 22, so the Dragao are free to complete transactions until then.

Ricky humiliating real madid. Ricky is the boss
I wish I see him how play under Mancini’s command.
I HOPE HE GET WHAT HE WANTS AT PORTO
PORTO CAN DEVELOP HIM
I hope FIFA put a transfer ban on Sunderland.
don’t believe FIFA..
i’m more a fan of PES.. XD
Ricky was one the few bright lights of those shitty seasons.
it is strange how he F***ed up.. i really had high hopes for him when he joined inter
meh, he was average at best. sucks we lost those13 million and got nothing in return
I agree with my fellow interista, he didn’t fail at inter. He was haunted by injuries.
But what’s important now is the 11 mil we should get. Where is it?
at court i think..
In the article it says that alvarez failed at both inter and sunderland XD
Sorry just got what you meant XDXD a bit sleepy here
He didn’t fail at Inter, if he did, he wouldn’t made such a big money move to Sunderland(which I guess we won’t get in the end, even though we should).
Why we wont get it?
Well afaik Alvarez appealed to Fifa to terminate his Sunderland contract. He will go to Porto on free transfer. I can’t see FIFA forcing Sunderland to pay such money for not getting the player. It would be great for us, but I don’t see it happening.
That club should be banned by FIFA by not allowing them to enter transfer market for at least 3 season. Then they might end up in championship.
No,we will get the money, sunderland obligate to but ricky if they are not relegated.it is simple and very clear to me what should be happened.instead they try to not buy ricky because they considered him as injury prone and too expensive for them.i am sure they will pay us,but i dont know if they will pay full the transfer fee or not,but if fifa stick to that clause, they will pay the fee to us
You clearly don’t know the whole story. Supposedly we handed them Ricky while he was injured and in need of surgery. Now they are saying that we made wrong because we didn’t notify them(which is quite retarded since he completed medical at Sunderland, should have noticed that). Its never as black and white as you think, unless you’re naive. Such cases can take years to process.
I knew about that.he had a medical in sunderland,so why now they blame us for his injury?no need for years for this case, for me it is simple,we have the full fee,or part of it since the injury thing
Yeah, I agree its a pretty simple thing, they were obligated and its due and they can’t blame the injuries because he did medical at their facilities. But if you followed any possible court case ever, you will know it’s never that simple. So many laws, so many processes to go through. I mean people win lawsuits when paramedics break their rib after they successfully revive(and yes, breaking a rib is a normal part of CPR), there was a case where Red Bull actually had to pay tons of money because they didn’t state that it doesn’t actually give wings and such. Court dealings are a son of a bitch.
I still don’t see it being logical. I mean if Fifa approved that Alvarez can terminated his contract with Sunderland, then it means that Fifa accept that he’s a Sunderland player. And the only way that he is a Sunderland player is they pay us the transfer fee. If Fifa consider Sunderland have no obligation to buy him, then his move would just be a loan and he should be an inter player and not a free agent.
Well if the player belong to Sunderland which he did based on the agreement the termination of contract would be with Sunderland not us therefore we did sell the player to Sunderland and they should pay. Ausilio said he was confident FIFA will rule on our favor.
I still remember the way he shredded Jube’s defense and passed Icardi for the goal 2 years ago. He had his moments of brilliance, but mentally he was on Kovacic and Ranocchia’s wavelength, if not worse.
Yeah, his main problem was not being consistant and that god damn 1 leg of his. Completely useless with right foot. Too bad he isn’t as good as Robben who can make it work with 1 foot.
so he failed at enter..making big money is not an indication of his failure of success.. but English clubs they tend to overpay for players.. inconsistency, multiple injuries or not delivering as expected still a considered failure
Ricky had some really entertaining games for us. That juve game was amazing.
He had a great presence on the team. Like you say he didn’t fail and we got a lot of points when he was on the pitch.
Alvarez didn’t fail miserably at Inter. he had one great season.
we had really high hopes for him.. so by failing i mean not delivering world class soccer.. even though he did show very good talent (but was not great)..
for how much???
free to porto.. but we are still waiting for the 11mil from Sunderland
