Inter came crashing down to earth after a Nikola Kalinic hattrick and Josip Ilicic penalty helpes Fiorentina destroy Inter 4-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district. Below you can see the SempreInter.com’s player ratings of Inter’s players from the heavy defeat.
Samir Handanovic – 4: This was the Samir Handanovic horror show. Gave away 2 goals & needs to work mentally as his howlers in big matches is an issue.
Davide Santon – 4,5: When used down the right flank he did well but when inexplicably he was moved into the centre of defense he was unwatchable.
Gary Medel – 5,5: Had a poor game & played the poor pass to Handanovic for Viola’s 1st goal but makes up for it by sheer determination. A leader.
Joao Miranda – 4: Nightmare performance by the Brazilian who got sent off in the 31st minute preventing a clear goalscoring opportunity for Viola.
Alex Telles – 5: Delivered the cross for Icardi’s goal. Has a good left foot & behaves like a natural left-back should behave. Sloppy passing.
Felipe Melo – 5,5: A leader & fighter who hates loosing. Just like Medel he makes up for his mistakes by fighting to the last drop of blood.
Geoffrey Kondogbia – 4,5: Looked tired, out of shape & generally very unfocused. Shouldn’t have started today & was quite rightly brought off at half-time.
Fredy Guarin – 4: When things go bad for the team, he is by far the worst player on that team. Couldn’t string a single pass to his team-mates. Awful.
Ivan Perisic – 4: Looked like he was crumbling under pressure tonight. Passing, timing & crossing were awful. Brought off in 61st minute for Biabiany.
Rodrigo Palacio – 5: Started the match well as he looked fresh & on his toes. Won the free-kick which Icardi scored on & as always plays intelligently.
Mauro Icardi – 5,5: Invisible throughout the game which is expected seeing as his job is to be in the oppositions penalty box & score. Which he did.
Andrea Ranocchia – 4: Brought on at half-time & gave about as poor a performance as you can expect from him. Missed passes, headers, awful positioning etc.
Jonathan Biabiany – 4,5: Came on to bring pace to the wing but ended up playing as a left-sided full-back who didn’t know what he was doing.
Marcelo Brozovic – 4,5: Substituted on for Guarin just after Viola’s 4th goal as the match was basically over. Has to start ahead of Guarin next match.
Roberto Mancini – 4: Outcoached, outthought & outmaneuvered by his Fiorentina counterpart Manuel Paolo Sousa who outclassed him tonight.
Inter – 4: Awful performance by a team that came crashing down to earth after a great start to the season. Can they bounce back?
Antonio Damato – 6: Decent performance by the referee & his team. Got a few decisions wrong but showed intelligence & consistency.

I dont get the idea of Sousa getting the tactics so right. His tactics were to sit back and hit Inter on the counter, which I believe would not have worked only for the early penalty. He will not get a lucky 2nd minute penalty every game. Also, it is only 3 points, we would be delighted mid August if we were told we would be joint top after 6 games on 15 points. The lessons learned should also be huge from this match. It is a shame Miranda and Murillo will not be together the next match. Remember it is better to lose a match by 3 goals than to lose 3 matches by 1 goal.
That is true, but getting destroyed like that affect’s confidence and morale on the long run, we were playing at home and were favourites to win no one expected this performance and attitude
You’re totally right but 4-1 loss hurts. I wish it was 2-1 or 3-2.
Referee is amazing….
we are holding the ball too long, need to play fast passing game.
what the referee got 6!? he should got 10.. just kidding.. ^^ btw, a shit game like this happen to everyteam, even barca lose 4-1. so we need to calmdown.. we should expect this will come too right!? our target is top 3, so we still on the right track to achieve it.. as we are still in top 2.. we should improve our game.. tonight everybody played bad, not just handa.. just need to pick up our self in the next game.. “Winners are not those who never lose, but those who never give up”
Sooo many 4s.. Oh wait..
TIRED?
Inter played with similar composition in these thigh match schedule. I think the tiredness of the players effect on the performance as well. The squad rotation is needed, yet it understandable that we lack of quality replacement on the bench. Anw, let’s bounce back ragazzi!
we dont have european commitments like others. playing 1 match every week and getting tired is not an excuse. fiorentina played more matches due to europa league but looked fresher
That’s true.. I just wondering that I saw Kondogbia played 3 times in more or less a week is pretty intense. My concern is on Mancini tendency to not rotate his player.
Handanovic 4??? Handanovic deserves a 1 and that’s pretty it. And that 1 was for getting dressed and showing up to the game on time, but that’s pretty it. It’s like he wasn’t even there tonight. Embarrassing performance as he is the number one reason behind this awful defeat!
he should be benched next match to teach him a lesson
Lol punishing your best keeper because of one match is a big no no. It takes away his confidence and makes him worse
dumbest thing i’ve ever read. one match doesn’t change the fact that he’s a top 10 keeper in the world and our best player.
That red card was quite bs though. Barely a touch to his torso and decide to lie down beacuse he’s too slow to get a decent shot on goal. At the second goal, Handa makes a decent save on a good shot, can’t be blame for that. Third goal Perisic should take a tactical yellow instead of backing off.
Maybe the attacker went down easy, but what Miranda did is quite clear red. You cannot be the last defender and do something like that, it always results in red card, no matter if its shirt pull or a horror tackle.
so we will be without Miranda against Samp & Jube right?
only samp (1 match ban)
Handanovic deserves a 1.5. Medel was not at fault for that back pass. Handa should have delt with the ball long ago. He had ample time to do so. For Miranda’s red card, Handa was suppose to come off his line to clear the ball as the ball traveled a long way before Miranda could even get there. Poor performance feom him. He cost us the game.
After the 2nd goal, we pressed too high up trying to get a goal back; Underestimating our opponents. They are Fiorentina not Bari. We were punished.
Lesson learned.
Mancini cannot keep playing 2 “wingers” behind IC9. Perisic is a true winger. Play him wide and he will do magic.
Forza Inter.

Thanks ☺

I only think that Melo wasn’t that good at all. BUT it is not his fault.
Fiorentina plan was obviously to stop his playmaking which succeeded, forcing him lose the ball too many times. Other than that he is great and will recover…!
