Inter’s Brazilian full back Dodo has been speaking to the media during a press conference this afternoon at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.
“I want to be available for selection again, let’s see where I should play and how I can be useful for the team. There have been some tough moments. The first month after the injury is the hardest: you can’t run and you can’t work out in the gym. You have to stay strong mentally.”
Close to a return Dodo’s aim is to force his way back into the Inter and Brazil starting elevens:
“I heard that there were transfer rumours, but honestly nothing came through and we were only focusing on my recovery. I didn’t take any holidays so I could continue my return to fitness. It went really well and my only thought was to return to helping out the team. I’m feeling good at the moment, perhaps even better than when I first came to Inter.”
“I’m really motivated and I want to play, my main objective is get back into the team. I hope to earn my spot in the starting XIs for Inter and Brazil. A big squad is definitely a good thing, at some point last year we had so many injuries that I was the only full back available. If a team wants to win, it needs to have different options.”
How the season is going and the atmosphere in the dressing room:
“Serie A is different this year, we can compete with the top teams and take it right to the end. The coach is a direct and honest man. It’s really important throughout the whole season that even those who aren’t playing regularly are always prepared to step up to the plate and go out and win games.”

Excellent work Inter !! It’s not your fault Marco Branca for this acquisition because Moratti was the captain of a sinking ship and offered Mazzarri the big bucks for his soccer knowledge and he specifically directed you to spend 1.2 mill for the loan of Dodo with a mandatory buy of 7.8 million !! God that was one of the worst transfers inter has ever made and that says a mouthful because this is a team that overpaid for Pereira,Schelotto,Ranocchia,Belfodil, Vampeta……….man if only Marotta had that kind of cash he could get Pirlo, Marchisio, Pogba, Neto, Khedira and Barzagli with 7.3 million left over !!!
Only way you can help Inter is by finding a new club ASAP. No wonder Roma got rid of you.
I think he is a good player, in fact he could easily play as fullback, he has good crosses too, I remember that he is able to perform good corner kicks, in the Mazzari era we used to score several goals by this way, having the “Beast” and Icardi as good headers may resolve a game, good to have him back!
He needs to learn how to defend, position himself better in games. Can’t rely solely on his pace all the time. He’s easily our fastest full back though
He’ll get his chance to show if he is worthy. Then we’ll see.
I feel kinda bad for him, he could play in quite a few Serie A teams but with Mazzari gone, he has no position to play in. He was bought for 3-5-2 and he can’t attack well enough to be a winger, can’t defend well enough to be a fullback.
I think that he is on the same level as Telles, and they are quite similar players. I just hope that Dodo is OK and that we have good competitors for left back.
I personally think Telles is much better than Dodo. Better crosses, can do more defending, better dribbler etc etc.
Maybe, we will see. But too often people glorify new players and think that they are better than those we already have just because they are new, ignoring that many players are bought for rotation and strengthening the bench.
Telles did well so far. But remember first few months Dodo had at Inter. Everybody used to say that we made a great transfer for almost no money. And he didn’t actually fail, he had few mistakes in defense but he was fine overall until he got injured.
