Even though he renewed his contract before the summer the transfer rumours still keep surrounding Inter’s Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi. Corriere dello sport reports that the latest club that has shown interest for the striker is Arsenal. The newspaper reports that Arsenal could want to offer 45 million euro’s in January and this offer would be difficult for Thohir to decline.

after seeing what Adem Ljajic can do, Icardi already looking an OK player but not what we wished him to be, also in Serie A throughball is tough and Icardi needs direct passes inside the box (last year kovacic kind of passes) to cause problems ( he has great inside the box positiong by the way) but that in my opinion is being a bit limited and not versatile (Icardi can’t dribble = major problem in modern football).
There in no one on Inter that is more marketable than Icardi. If Thorir wants to tour this team around the world then he can’t dispense with Icari. Unless he spends big on a player even more marketable. Unless a new superstar emerges Mauro should continue hanging with us.

Wenger has stated that he Is prepared to spend big on a player if he can find the right one in January – don’t know if he was talking about Icardi though. The press in England are talking about his interest in Icardi as well so it isn’t just a rumor!
With 45 mil we could sign all our loanies like Ljajic, Jojo, Miranda and Telles or we could bring in a quality attacking playmaker and let Jojo play the lone striker ( seems like Mancini likes the much more mobile Jojo more than Icardi too). We could go after the attacking mid from Palermo (have forgotten his name) and a quality right back (which we deadly need) maybe the Brazilian from Monaco (if I’m not mistaken). Plus maybe we could get Dragovic too – 45 mil is a lot of money, but on the other hand; Icardi isn’t just another promising youngster, he is a man how has proven his worth and how surely will be a big player in the future (not likeKova).

I can’t see us selling him unless a crazy offer comes in and 45mil for Icardi isn’t crazy. I think people forget he’s only young and still has a lot of potential to fill. Now i don’t doubt Icardi is really talented, but Wenger’s system actually needed someone with more involvement on the ball (just look at how many times Icardi touch the ball this season, which isn’t that much and his touches aren’t exactly effective either. Still, Icardi movement off-the-ball is good). Which is part of the reason why he sometimes deploy wingers as central forward. Does the name Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell ring any bell?
Icardi is neither exactly a very incisive player nor a strong Drogba-esque player. There’s a plethora of samples and reasons why these type of players didn’t survive long in England. As far as rumors go, it’d be more believable if it was Madrid, PSG, or even Bayern that shows some interest.
we had three gems (hidden or otherwise) since the treble. Coutinho kovacic and Icardi. Under the right coach these three would have flourished together. But we sold two. One for change and the other for a good price. Not even mad about those. But we can not sell icardi. That 2nd half this past weekend proved he could play in mancini’s prefered system. And the last 10 games of last year he was phenomenal with goals and assists. We have no reason to sell at all. You guys arent getting my point. Selling icardi Its not a good sign to give to other teams. I’m not comparing them. I said those three had a lot of potential. Thats all. The higher ups in the club labeled him that not me. Selling icardi is not gonna get us financially strong because we’ll just use the money on another player we’ll sell in a yr. if we wanna get financialy strong we need to build off the pitch. With good youngsters, better sponsors, our own stadium. Selling our best players is not a method of getting financially strong, its a method of staying afloat.
