According to O jogo, former English Champion Chelsea have placed a €40m offer for Joao Mario. Mario who recently won the Euros with Portugal team reportedly has a €60m release clause. Apart from Chelsea, Inter and PSG have also shown interest.

I have read a lot of Portuguese league followers stating he is pure quality in the league and Sportings best player, while stating that he had only a decent European Championship. Some say he is extremely versatile who can play: DM, CM, AM and RM. Does not sound too bad, but the figures makes me wonder a bit. I have only seen him in EC, so cannot put a fair judgement on him yet.

On a side note, I hope we’ll agree that Kondo is a success. Not worth 30m yet, but his performances improved greatly as the season progressed. Expect him to continue right where he left of last season. This season, he’ll justify the price tag.
