After Inter’s disappointing draw against Palermo, coach Frank De Boer spoke to Premium Sport about his side’s performance:
“We played a lot better than we did last week. We are very disappointed with the result because we normally would have won 4-1. We have started poorly, but I am very confident heading into the next couple of matches. We were a bit unfortunate, because we conceded on their first shot on goal, but the team really picked it up. Candreva? He did very well and he showed that he could make a difference immediately. Eder? He is currently in a better physical condition than Candreva, but he is still not at 100%. The third sub? We were playing well so I did not need to use it.”

When you have a new coach with a completely different way of playing and the team shows marked improvement from his first game in charge then that’s more important sign for the future, gives more hope that De Boer can make this team qualify for UCL.
play bad to grab UCL spot is just a fake hope. Look at what Mancini has done.
Were mou style of play enjoyable to watch? Or simeone? Or sampaoli? Some coach choose pragmatic approach if he know his squad is not good enough. That’s what people see from good tactician.
Result was disappointing, but this performance was good. It was fluid, confident and direct. De Boer has us playing quality football again. Results are coming.
I’m disappointed with the result. Not so much with the way we played, there’s obvious improvement compared to the last game. And i believe that this is only the beginning! We showed serious improvement with set pieces, both when we have to attack and defend.
One thing that annoys me is that De Boer still can’t understand, in Serie A if you want to win, have to take some risks. There’s no common sense, when we needed goal at all costs to keep Medel on the field, because he’s useless in attack! Miangue for Santon substitute was a little bit strange and even stranger was that De Boer complaint about our players physical condition, but he doesn’t use his last substitution and we have players like Brozovic, Biabiani and Palacio on the bench.
Anyway, if we start to play better sooner or later the results will come, but we can’t afford to lose too many points! I think that De Boer and his staff have still a lot to learn and will take time to adapt to Serie A.
I have to say though that perisic looked tired to me and so did santon. I think we are not there for physical condition yet….but yea Medel needed to come out but I’m not sure if he wanted to play brozo

FDB sure understands their ‘quality’. I like this coach. He seems have the similar vision with me.

I trust you Frank! You put a good tactic today. Banega as deep lying playmaker was a nice choice. I’m sure he will be an important element in our squad for many years. And you got some balls by playing a primavera player at critical situation.
But surely, they need to fix our defense department. There was a bit shaky when banega lost the ball, they were late to cover it up which resulted palermo’s goal
A little bit unlucky.. The first 20min we were playing so bad but after that we were getting better and improved. We were not clinical becausethere is no player like eto’o or ibra who are dangerous when hold the ball and speedy and also can make the differences .. We cannot relying on icardi unless there is a playmaker like wesley sneijder in the middle . D ambrossio and santon were decent players. On the other hand, Candreva show us what he capable of ( remember me of luis figo). Overall, we are not good enough and need to improve a lot after gabigol and joao mario arrival. ( we need sakho/cecares/criscito, playmaker, fullback, and striker) we are dont have enough quality to compete with juventus right now or even Napoli/Roma
We played well….diamrosio needs to be sold he is no good. We just need to find more balance in the middle….

I’m hoping we’re working on some transfers behind the scenes and we’ll get a few defenders on the final day. Ausilio’s interview sounded like complete lies, why would Brozovic not play (and his agent say that he’s leaving) if he wasn’t leaving? And how can we survive the season without at least one more defender

Cacares would be a good 2in1 signing (i dont even understand what are we wating for, he’s free) and knowing de Boer he wont be afraid to use Miangue more often. the bigger challenge is to get rid of nagahomo, rano and melo somehow

I can’t agree more. There should be no excuses because we played well and without their luck, we would have smashed them. Palermo’s luck was just on another level.
Now that I’m a bit calmer, future is looking bright for us. De Boer has been here for 20 days, his second official game and we played really well. And that was without Ansaldi or Joao Mario, who would replace Medel or Kondogbia(if he played today instead of either of them, I’m sure we would have won. It’s incredible how many times Medel was upfront as a striker, completely played out of position).

De Boer has hinted at possibly using Medel at CB and maybe we sign Caceres or Sakho. I’m sure Caceres wants a new club by the end of the transfer window, might just come to us. Also Nagatomo may not be a starter in the future, Santon looks better than him and De Boer rates him.
Santon was trash, he often chose to pass to Murillo when he had a free team mate on the wing ahead of him. He played negative shy football and that’s why he got subbed. He’s lacking confidence and he was mostly to blame for the Palermo goal. We need fdb to pickup jetro willems asap! I can’t wait for ansaldi

the fact that a midfielder found himself in a goal-scoring opportunity rather often looks very good for the future. this is definetly a sign of de Boer’s tactics and it will only get better

Agree for medel mario swap but not kondo. Have you noticed that every ball was through kondo. Kondo as dm with benega and mario infront of him seems to be the best (my opinion)

Kondogbia was downright trash today, he was clumsy, poor touch with ball often getting away from him and easy turnover. He also often misplaced a pass after 3 touches. All he can do is run with ball head down, he’s extremely limited. I didn’t know such players could become professionals… And all if this was viewed from the San Siro, 1st row orange section
He had an up and down game. One thing I’ll give him is he worked his ass off. He was very involved. He did give up some balls but he’s just a bit inconsistent. Young, new league, new coach, I hope he can thrive this season.
that’s right, I can’t understand why some ppl praise his performance, he hasn’t change that much since last season- at least Medel did what he could upfront sadly he has no finishing skills but well, I expect really more from Kondo or maybe Joao can make a difference!
