Stefano Pioli has officially been named as the new manager of Inter. Pioli has signed a deal until the summer of 2018 and brings with him Giacomo Murelli (assistant coach), Davide Lucarelli (technical assistant), Matteo Osti (fitness coach) and Francesco Perondi (fitness coach). The 51-year-old will be unveiled to the press on Thursday at Appiano Gentile.

Yeah I understand what you’re saying, but remember that he made the whole team work for Higuain. He never asked him to do any defensive duties, or pressure the other team. So any star would fall in love with the coach for that. Look at him now in Juventus, he’s not doing that good because Juventus plays as a team not to chip balls for one individual.

The goal is definitely an EL spot at this point, which he hopefully can achieve although it wont be easy.
EL is easy. We can even achieve 3rd spot with a little luck. It’s 8 points to 3rd spot and we only played 12 games. We are playing Milan next who are in 3rd place, and if we beat them we will be only -5 points to 3rd place with 25 games remaining. But we must beat Milan. If we loose it will be -11 points instead.
I think the season so far shows that nothing is easy for this Inter team.
The remaining schedule for the first half of this season is quite hard with milan, napoli, fiorentina and lazio matches still to be played. Inter should have had far more points at this considering their schedule has been quite easy so far, the tough period comes now.
It would take a miracle to get 3rd place considering how the season has turned out and with a new coach again in midseason.
Reaching EL would be a good result, all things considered.
I wonder when last time coach survived two years in Inter? I think it was Mou, but he left himself. If Pioli plays 4-3-3, that’s what I read, then we’re lost. But, I won’t judge until I see the matches. Forza Inter & good luck Pioli.
Are we lost if we play 4-3-3? Why? A 4-3-3 can be played in many different ways, just like a 3-5-2!
I personally thinks our squad is best equipped to play either 4-3-3 or 3-4-1-2, not 4-2-3-1.
In a 4-3-3 we could play Banega as a deeper playmaker, a regista which I still think is his best role in a tactically very hard league like Italy, and have Mario and Kondogbia in front of him as box to box monsters!
Well, I see Banega as regista too, a role like Pirlo, and two hard-working midfielders with him, I just don’t want to see 30 crosses from Candreva in game when striker is 1,8m! It’s important to find a position for Eder, since he’s our best attacking player.
I like Eder as well but Perisic is very strong when played as a true winger in a 4-3-3 unlike a “Mobil” striker in a 4-2-3-1
I agree Banega will be more useful in deep lying playmaker role, as he loses the ball too easy when playing forward.
I think Inter would be very tough playing a 3-5-2.

1. Play Medel as a CB who won 2 Copa Americas and doesn’t play long balls.
2. There will always be one more player to defend, in case Candreva or Perisic are forward and the ball is lost.
3. Mario K-Dog and Brozo will cover many spaces as they are proved runners
4. Finally Eder will play on his best role, which is SS (secondary striker)

Right choice IMO. He can give us instant impact due to him being Italian and knowing Serie A very well. Managers like Marcelino might have been a better choice for long projects, but we’re looking for instant impact and he can give that. His salary is reportedly rather low, lower than De Boer’s and way lower than Mancini’s. His contact also goes until 2018, which is the year when Simeone’s contract runs out with AM. Best possible scenario, he takes over for next 1.5 season and then we switch to Simeone, unless Pioli wins us Scudetto or something.
Notice that mancini also came in before derby.
