Marco Verratti slammed reports saying he’d admitted he wanted to go to Barcelona after his PSG beat the Spanish side 4-0 last night: “The outlets reported things I never said in me having a desire to go to Barcelona, I wanted to talk about it before the match. Nothing of it is true, my dream is to win here and it still would have been if we’d lost. I believe in the club and in the project and I am excited to be part of it. To win here in Paris would be different than in any other club.”

to be totally honest – after seeing last night’s game with PSG trashing Barca and with Verratti in a key role; again – I really don’t see why he should leave them and join us!? Maybe there´s a chance for Juve to get him due to them being the strongest in Italy, a major player already in Europe and him being a Juve-fan, but I really doubt we stand a chance of signing him with the “just-started project” with Suning, no-CL football and -> him being a Juve fan….
Maybe signing a player who doesn’t play much, let´s say James, and have in Mario´s position and THEN lower Mario to play next to Gagliardini would be just an important signing and would make us take the next step up!?
Lol Naseer would rather die than sell him to ruben after coman fiasco. The only way it could happen, psg sold him to another club and ruben bought him from that club
Í know he doesn’t like the Juve management because of them stealing Comann but still, a player can force a move through if he wants it really badly and if the buy is ready with a huge offer…
I definitely don’t see Verratti at Inter, for all the reasons you listed, and because PSG have no reason to sell. I only see a few options for Marco in the near future, the favorite being to stay at PSG, a club he owes a lot to for taking the chance on him as a kid coming out of Serie B! The other options include Barcelona, regardless of what he said in the interview, I don’t think any player would deny Barce unless they have or are playing for either Madrid club. The other options have to do more with managers than the club, but I could see him going to one of Bayern, Chelsea or Man City to play under Ancelotti, Conte, or Guardiola. All mentioned coaches have found major success with two of the best players in Verratti’s role in Pirlo and Xavi, and Ancelotti and Conte being Italian definitely helps! My guess is Marco stays at PSG for one more season passed this current one to see where PSG’s project can take him. Then, when in all likelihood, they aren’t finding the success in CL he was hoping for: he joins Conte at Chelsea. After winning a couple of PL titles and maybe even the CL, both Verratti and Conte go back to Rubentus where they belong with the other merda!
Great comment / in fact I think this is one of the best comments/analysis I read on this site! And .. Totally agree with you
Thank you, that is a tremendous compliment! I’ve been putting a lot of thought into some of the more outlandish transfer claims like Verratti and Messi since they were rumored. Like any sports fan I too like to dream of signings like Messi, but when it comes down to it I’m much more of a realist: I can’t even play a FIFA career mode without weeks of preparations to make everything as realistic as possible!
Nice to finally meet a fan who too tries to keep an realistic view on things and doesn’t get carried away in either the “lets sack the coach because he doesn’t play Gabi” or “let’s buy thus and that player next summer” without thinking it our needs through!
Same, there are certainly many Interisti on here who dramatize their optimism and/or pessimism towards the club, but to each their own.
rather than Verrati, it’s more possible if Inter try to buy Kimpembe, I would love too if Inter sign Rabiot. Rabiot is classy, full of technique and skill, typically french Midfielder just like Viera, Zidane.
PSG are NOT a selling club! Kimpembe and Rabiot came through their youth academy and are not players they’re going to sell anytime soon, if at all. Rabiot is classy, but I don’t see him reaching the levels of Vieira or Zidane: you’re talking about two of the best French players ever!
