Sunday Inter will play against Roma. Strong challenge and very important match for the journey of Pioli’s team as he continues to hope for qualification to the next Champions League. Before the big match at Meazza, Inter and Roma Forever Legends, will play six against six inside the gates of San Siro. Sebastien Frey, Javier Zanetti, Marco Materazzi, Giorgos Karagounis, Olivier Dacourt, Benoit Cauet, Andy van der Meyde and Benny Carbone, are the players that will face the Roma Legends.
Among the Nerazzurri ranks will be Van der Meyde who stated:
“I remember the matches against Roma, they were all very well felt. Returning to wear the Nerazzurri shirt is a great pleasure, Inter is in my heart and I am happy to be playing again with Inter.”

The jersey that he is wearing might be one of the coolest Inter jerseys ever. So happy that I still got one.
i have one too hahahaha
Another Dutchman who failed at Inter.. *Cough De Boer *Cough
He on the right n kily on the left, then guly came as sub in 2nd half. Inter cuper
He never really did much in the right, too much of an alcoholic. Kily was awesome though!
one of my fav player at that time was kallon 😀
Stil remember his goal against Arsenal, he played well under H. Cooper. After Cooper was sacked, Zaccheroni was appointed and he fucked up vdm totaly
Not strange – he was a winger nothing else. And Coper played a typical old fashion 4-4-2 with wingers where as Zaccheroni played a modern 3-4-3 and in that system Van der Meyde played mainly as an attacking midfielder!
One of my fav player at that time…
Strange to see him in a “Inter forever legends” team… he never was anything special. Well, neither were Frey, Benito Carbone or Cauet…. but: Forza Inter as always!
he was the lord of his era.. it’s frustating to watched him play tbh..
He was a great winger. Just like Quaresma, they both flopped when joining us. But it was hard to forget Van der Meyde’s goal against Arsenal
He was by no means great. He was a total flop and his career totally went to shit after he left Inter.
He was talented but a huge alcoholic
Well both joined us maybe too young and unproven – Van der Meyde joined directly from Ajax if I remember correct and Queresma from Portugal…
Quaresma has been at barcelona even before returning to Portugal. He wasn’t too young
And didn’t do anything there either… he was too young or didn’t have the right mentality back then because technically he was superb and has always been great with Portugal… Some players simply haven’t got the right mentality to handle pressure
Frey was arguably awesome when he started then the game got to his head, still very talented. Cadet was an engine and ran his ass every time for our colors…
well frey came in hard time, if im not mistaken. when were changing coach couple of times in one season then lippi come as coach n RoBo Duo as our fwd, so much expectation at that time but afterall were successfully failed in the end too.
Frey never was awesome, but us fans really wanted this young, talented, Frenshman who was coming through our ranks to be a success. Just like we want everyone youngster from our youth teams to be a success, but he never came close to pushing Pagliuca off!
Cauet was an engine but nothing more, liked Dacourt much more …
every (well, most..) mercato seasons there is always a player or two that gets us excited to welcome the new season (the excitement normally ends by December).. VDM was the guy.. quaresma too.. they eventually flopped, but still the exciting feeling can still be felt until now..
may i add mancini roma too?
I know – us fans need this “great signing” to make us dream! That´s what football is all about; dreaming!
I was still in third grade when VDM played for Inter.
