Zanetti: “I was so excited to play Baresi & Maldini in my first derby”

Javier Zanetti reflected on his personal derby experiences in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, “Let’s start with my first derby, it finished 1-1 with Paganin and Savacevic scoring the goals. I was so excited to be playing against Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini.”

“A second memorable derby for me was when I scored the equalising goal in the 2-2 draw on March 13 1999. The 4-0 win at home in 2009 is another memorable derby for me. What a goal Thiago Motta scored to make it 1-0,” he added.
