Corriere dello Sport believe that Matias Vecino has defied his critics since joining Inter. The critics were of the opinion that Inter paid too much for him after the Nerazzurri activated the Uruguayan midfielder’s €24 million release clause in the summer and defies them each and every game.

Vecino has played a part in all of Inter’s 11 Serie A games this term and has found the net on one occasion and provided two assists.

The 26-year-old has struck up a solid partnership with Roberto Gagliardini in the midfield two of Luciano Spalletti’s 4-2-3-1 system. Alongside Gagliardini, Vecino has more freedom to express himself whereas he was unable to do so to the same extent in the early part of the season when partnered with Borja Valero.

Corriere dello Sport are also of the opinion that Vecino was just what Inter were needing and all he needs to do is score a bit more often.
