Speaking in a press conference before the Inter Forever squad take on the Chinese All Star Legends team, Beppe Baresi lauded Roberto Gagliardini, wishing him a bright career with the Nerazzurri: “I’ve followed many generations of Inter greats, from Bedin, to Oriali and then Zanetti: Today there is a new young man who has recently arrived and I hope he stays for a long time at Inter, while achieving great satisfaction, this is of course Gagliardini, a hard worker, who can still improve a lot and I hope he does it with Inter.” As Inter.it reports.

23-year-old Gagliardini arrived as a promising product of the Atalanta youth academy in the January transfer window of the 2016/17 season, instantaneously impressing, with his physical dominance and occasional clever pieces of play. After enduring a tough end to that season and a slow start to the 2017/18 campaign – perhaps due to his involvement in the U21’s Italian national team, he now looks more like the Gagliardini that was first seen under new coach Luciano Spalletti.
