Inter captain Mauro Icardi is recovering well from his knock and is expected to be back in full training next week according to Sky Sport.

The 24-year-old suffered a knock to his knee in the 1-1 draw with Torino prior to the international break commencing and it was feared that he may miss Inter’s next game with Atalanta on Sunday 19 November. Icardi’s injury was not as bad as first feared upon diagnosis, which confirmed nothing more than severe bruising on his knee.

As a safety precaution, the Argentine international will undergo further tests on either Tuesday or Wednesday next week just to confirm the progress he is expected to have made by Inter’s medical staff. Icardi is expected to be available for selection for the aforementioned game with Gian Piero Gasperini’s visiting Atalanta in nine days time.

Icardi has been crucial to Inter’s unbeaten start this campaign by scoring 11 goals in 12 games and providing an assist also.
