Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo spoke on Inter linked Lucas Torreira among other things in an interview with Corriere dello Sport today ahead of his sides clash with Lazio this weekend.
“Can Torreira be compared to Claudio Pizzaro?” The Rome based news outlet asked the 50-year-old.
“Pizarro had so much quality, but he was too tired, if Torreira was taller, he would already cost 100 million and would be considered among the best midfielders in the world. He will be in a big club that does not care much about his stature in the future.”
Giampaolo then discussed four of his players who have moved on to arguably better things in Milan Skriniar, who joined Inter, Bruno Fernandes, Patrik Schick and Luis Muriel.
“Four great players left, three are playing in the Champions League, the fourth [Skriniar] will play next year, but we as a team have improved in a collective way.”
Aside all , massive respect for Samp
6th despite loosing key players and above 200M€ spenders Bbilan
Massive respect and big thank you to Montella also. He almost got Samp relegated couple of years ago too.
Still a better manager than ventura
That 25 m clause on torreira man…
Just jump on him , forget the rest.
There will be a competition and the player gets to choose. Rube will probably bid because of the price and not to let other Serie A teams get him. If not Rube then there will be others. I’m quite certain our management wants him.
