Flamengo are in the process of evaluating their current playing staff as the season nears its close and are also on the lookout for replacements and or reinforcements to their ranks.
Their search has lead them to looking at Inter’s Gabriel Barbosa according to Brazilian outlet Extra Globo. Gabigol, as he is otherwise known, is one of two strikers they wish to add to their side.
The 21-year-old is no stranger to Brazilian football having broke out on to the scene at Santos in recent years prior to his €30 million move to Inter in the summer of 2016.
Currently, the striker finds himself out on loan in Portugal with one of the current reigning European Champions nations most prestigious clubs, Benfica. He has not however lived up to the expectations set out and it is widely expected that Inter will recall him from his loan in the January transfer window and send him elsewhere.
