FCInterNews.it have likened Inter manager Luciano Spalletti to King Midas, who according to the legend had a touch that turned everything in to gold.

The latest player to have received the Spalletti midas touch is full back Davide Santon and FCInterNews.it report that the 26-year-old is in line for a renewal.

Santon’s current contract with the Nerazzurri expires in 2019 but Inter’s hierarchy would like to extend that a further two years through to 2021. Meetings to discuss the renewal of his contract are scheduled to take place in February and or March of next year.

The Inter academy graduate first broke in to the team just under a decade ago in the 2008/09 season and was part of the famous triplete winning squad. He then moved on to Newcastle in 2011 and spent four years in England before being brought back to San Siro for a second spell in 2015. This season, a rejuvenated Santon has made four appearances, starting in each of Inter’s past two fixtures.
