Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij is Inter’s biggest transfer target for next season in order to bolster the thin defence. The young Dutchman does not seem too eager to renew his contract with Lazio, as it expires next year, in June. This was almost confirmed yesterday as he was asked the question at Lazio’s Christmas diner party (“Will there be a Christmas gift for your fans? ‘I do not know…’ was his response). The crucial part of the negotiations is considered to be the release clause.
The former Feyenoord player, in the event of a disagreement with Lazio president Claudio Lotito, could be able to sign with anyone in January for a discount or just wait until the summer, when he will become a free agent. For Inter this would be a great steal, especially with Champions League on the horizon.
