Inter and Atalanta are continuing negotiations for the transfer of Alessandro Bastoni from Atalanta to Inter. The two clubs have already agreed a deal for the player to move to Inter in the future but Inter are looking to bring the move forward as they continue to suffer with squad numbers in defence.

Tuttosport reports that Luciano Spalletti is keen to have the player available at Appiano Gentile ahead of the Roma game on the 21st January after the Serie A winter break.  The two clubs have been in discussions since December. The deal made in the summer was for €9 million plus bonuses linked to appearances for Atalanta and those potentially for Inter in the future. In theory the loan was supposed to be for two years but taking into account Gasperini’s sparse use of the player this season and Inter’s need for a player in that position, the two clubs have decided to look at the deal again and see if they can come to a solution that suits everyone.

This will ultimately mean rewriting all the previous agreements made last summer about the various bonuses linked to the deal and career of the youngster by which point Bastoni will be under the direct control of Inter.
