Inter’s victory over Cagliari on Tuesday evening saw them make two important developments in their attacking play, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Milan-based news outlet highlighted in their match report how the Nerazzurri managed not only to uncover new sources of goals to accompany Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic, but also to involve Icardi more in their forward moves while Yann Karamoh moved around him.

“In this game Inter managed to extend their pool of goal-scorers,” they wrote. “Along with the usual suspects Icardi and Perisic, who scored the fourth goal at the end, they also found goals from Cancelo (his first for Inter) and Brozovic.”

“We also saw something different from them going forward. Icardi for instance moved around more, coming short and looking to spread play instead of waiting for his moment inside the box, while Karamoh used his youthful exuberance and anarchy to occupy free spaces in and around him.

“It was an effervescent Inter performance that put an end to their goal-scoring drought: they hadn’t scored in three games and here they scored four all in one go. It’s dangerous living a life of extremes; it would be better to pursue a healthy balance.”
