Former Milan manager Vincenzo Montella has tipped Inter to be up there and challenge Juventus for the scudetto this coming season in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“At the moment there is Napoli right behind Juventus but then there is Inter and Roma. The Nerazzurri are getting stronger while Monchi is making a young Roma squad,” he said.

Montella then proceeded to discuss which Italian youngsters he believes is destined for a big future.

“The first player that comes to mind is Alessandro Bastoni, who joined Inter from Atalanta last summer, he will have an extraordinary future.”

As part of the interview Montella also spoke on his sacking from Milan which he feels was rather unjust.

“My sacking? Of course it was bad. A new project had started and was interrupted in the wrong way. The club were not patient with me and I think I deserved a bit more time,” he concluded.
