Just before entering the media room at the club’s training centre in Appiano Gentile, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti stopped by InterTV that was broadcasting via the club’s official Facebook page to answer questions from the fans.
Spalletti began by saying that:”I don’t have a precise adjective to use to describe Inter this year but we have to be one of the teams that try to win everything with perseverance, insistence and a will to never lower our intensity. We are coming from a good season, we need to improve. We wanted this bicycle and now we must tramp its pedals.”
What form will Inter have this year?
“It is necessary have the players create this knowledge inside their heads, then it is clear that we must exploit the individual characteristics and make them play as a team.”
Where will Asamoah and Lautaro Martinez play?
“Asamoah can play in defence and in midfield, we have tried playing him in midfield for these specific reasons because we need a midfielder and he has made us see that he knows how to play this role really well too. Lautaro is a great player who we want to utilize, he will enter into the reasoning of how we will manage the team, there are moments that will determine which players should be used from time to time.”
Sassuolo is a tough opponent…
“They are a strong adversary, we saw this last year, a few months ago and we’ve always struggled against them. We know their strengths but we have to come out of old habits, we do not need to make any more tests. We have already tested ourselves and we have to win them all.”
