Radja Nainggolan has all but recovered from the thigh injury which has kept him out of action for the past month and is expected to make the bench as Inter face Torino on Sunday, according to Sky Sport.

Nainggolan was forced off after 24 minutes of the Nerazzurri’s preseason defeat to Sion on 18 July and has not played a minute of football since, thus missing the opening league game of the season against Sassuolo last weekend.

However the Belgian has begun training with the rest of his teammates again this week and is close to shaking off the problem altogether, with Friday’s sessions at Appiano Gentile providing further confirmation of the progress made.

Nainggolan completed virtually the entire session alongside the rest of the first team, before moving onto a personalised program when the technical and tactical drills began, and is all but certain to be included in Luciano Spalletti’s match-day squad this weekend.

The 30 year-old is said to be keen to start against Torino at San Siro, but the TV station believe it is more likely that he will be left on the bench initially.
