Letterio Pino, a member of Inter captain and talisman Mauro Icardi’s entourage has confirmed that there will be a meeting to discuss a renewal at Inter in the future in an interview with Top Calcio 24.

“There is total peace and it is clear that the meeting will happen sooner or later and will be in everyone’s interests,” he said.

Pino then spoke on the 25-year-old’s commitment to the club.

“Mauro said he wanted to stay at Inter [during the summer] and has really cheered for Inter since he was a young boy. He feels like Inter captain in all respects and he feels like the heir to Javier Zanetti at the club. He is a serious boy, he is happy and despite the rumours that surface during every transfer window he stays at Inter and he is happy to do so.

He also spoke on the alleged swap approach from Juventus over the summer.

“Juventus had to sell Gonzalo Higuain and then they proposed this exchange but this never interested Mauro.”
