Last night’s game went somewhat as expected for Inter with Barcelona running out as victors thus putting an end to Inter’s run of seven straight victories.

However, in the eyes of Corriere dello Sport, it is not all bad news because of the defeat, this because, in the other game in the group PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham Hotspur drew which means Inter are still well in with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stage.

The trip to take on the Spanish giants served as a good indicator for Inter as to where they stand in Europe. With the defeat, it showed the gap between Inter’s position and the top European clubs.

The reverse fixture is in two weeks time and Inter could seek revenge with injured midfielder Radja Nainggolan expected to be back for the match at San Siro. It was clear that Inter missed him last night at Camp Nou.
