The Argentinian central defender Matias Silvestre has not enjoyed a great start to his Inter career and earlier today Tuttomercatoweb reported that Atletico Madrid’s Argentine manager Diego Simeone is looking into the possibilities of signing the player with whom he enjoyed a successful stint at Sicilian outfit Catania, during the January transfer window. Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni is said not to be too keen on letting the central defender leave as Silvestre was a player the young Roman manager insisted on signing earlier this summer. The player himself is believed to want to stay and fight for his place at Inter but may be persuaded if he is continually overlooked whilst a Champions League-spot chasing Atletico Madrid led by his former manager and in-form lethat striker Colombian international Radamel Falcao come knocking on his door.
