According to Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Inter President Steven Zhang is trying to find a way to solve the current situation with Icardi otherwise he will decide in all probability to operate on his knee, thus bringing a close to his season.

This is the reported preference of Maurito but Wanda has said that he would remain in contact with Marotta with the hope of finding a solution. From the Nerazzurri’s perspective however, any step to reconciliation is difficult according to the Rome-based newspaper, with the sticking point still the issue of the Captain’s armband.

If Maurito was re-instated as Captain, he would automatically make himself available, but is it really conceivable that the President can go against a decision taken by his group of executives and endorsed by him, as confirmed at the club’s board meeting, on February 18th? It would surely undermine them and, moreover, not even the rest of the locker room would accept it graciously.

In short, it would risk a real earthquake. Yet Icardi is convinced that, after explaining what he has experienced in the recent weeks, something could conceivably come out of that meeting with President Zhang.

It also seems that Moratti has directly called Zhang Jr to have a direct clarification on the situation and to try to facilitate a reconciliation.

However, in any case, Icardi is already gearing up to organize another medical trip to Barcelona with Professor Cougat, through which he hopes to achieve a certificate stating the need for an operation.
