Former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca has voiced his opinion on foreign ownership in Italian football, with a number of clubs now owned by foreigners.

A number of Italian clubs who were traditionally owned by wealthy Italians are now owned by foreign businesses, including Inter, who are owned by Chinese e-commerce group Suning.

“I do not see anything bad about this, other than the fact that we need to look at things and situations well to be able to judge,” he remarked in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“The new Milan owners for example are looking for an important growth and are succeeding in doing so.

He continued: “In terms of Inter, I cannot see why anyone would complain about Zhang. At Bologna, we just have to be thankful for having an owner like Joey Saputo and as for Roma, well, at this moment the situation is not going well but things like that can happen in football.
