Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at how Inter manager Luciano Spalletti could replace the injured Marcelo Brozovic in the coming weeks.

The Croatian midfielder will certainly miss the games against Frosinone and Roma and it’s still not clear if he will be back against Juventus on April 27th.

Without Brozo, Spalletti will be forced to find a solution for one of, if not his most important player for his system.

The use of Borja Valero seems the most natural replacement. The Spaniard has always been the first choice in the five occasions that Brozovic has been rested or suspended.

While it seems completely logical for Borja Valero to start on Sunday, Frosinone also present an opportunity for Spalletti to experiment further.

As he’s done with Vecino in a more attacking midfielder role, Spalletti could try to find an alternative solution to Brozovic with Joao Mario. Joao Mario’s deep lying play maker ability has not often been tested, but it’s entirely possible that  the Portuguese midfielder could partner Vecino with Nainggolan taking back his role just behind the striker. Spalletti could even decide to switch to a 4-3-3 or a 4-1-4-1.
