Lele Oriali has already started working for Inter amid reports he will become the club’s new team manager, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Oriali has held the same position for the Italian national team since 2014 but recently decided to rejoin Antonio Conte in Milan, with whom he spent two years overseeing the Azzurri.
The 66-year-old met Conte and his backroom staff yesterday to develop Inter’s plans for preseason, following his duties for Italy as they played Greece and Bosnia in Euro 2020 qualifying.
Inter’s official announcement could be postponed slightly but the club have already finalised everything for their former player to rejoin the club.
Oriali will act as a reference point between Conte and his players, having already spent 11 years working for Inter in a managerial role.
The Italian made more than 500 appearances for them as a player during the 1970s and 1980s, helping Inter win two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italias.
