Edin Dzeko is expected to become an Inter player before next Thursday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Antonio Conte celebrated Romelu Lukaku’s arrival from Manchester United yesterday but he will also get the second striker he requested next week.

Inter will meet Roma’s infamous €20 million plus bonuses asking price while the Giallorossi step up their search for a replacement.

“Dzeko is tired of being in limbo between the two clubs, having reiterated his desire to leave in no uncertain terms when meeting Roma’s management recently,” the paper reported this morning.

“It’s highly unlikely the striker will be involved in Sunday’s preseason match against Real Madrid, because it would be a contradiction in terms which he has asked Roma to avoid.”

Gazzetta said ‘everything pointed towards’ Dzeko joining up with Conte in the next few days, following weeks of fraught negotiations between Inter and Roma.

The former Manchester City man scored 14 goals in all competitions last year as Roma finished sixth in Serie A.
