Inter coach Antonio Conte will have both Diego Godin and Stefan de Vrij at his disposal for the Nerazzurri’s next game against Udinese, according to Rome based newspaper the Corriere dello Sport.

The report also states that both players could start against the Friuliani, providing a rest for Milan Skriniar, if needed. Conte is keen to keep his defence as strong as possible, with players like Danilo D’Ambrosio and Andrea Ranocchia even holding their own among one of the strongest back-lines in the league.

Godin in particular is an important element of Conte’s defenc according to the report.

The 33-year-old Uruguayan is an experienced and strong leader, who is used to being in winning positions. This leadership will help keep the other members of the defence calm, as well as providing an important mentality to follow.

Once Godin and de Vrij are fully fit, Conte will have a strong and flexible defensive line that he can rotate between the league, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia, lowering the risk of injury.
