Legendary Italian manager Arrigo Sacchi has called for Antonio Conte to be given time to get his Inter side exactly how he wants it despite the fact Conte has led Inter to a perfect start in the league.

“Conte’s Inter is still in the  pipeline. The team appear to have got his determination, his will to win and his spirit but have not yet got the style of play and organisation of its conductor,” he remarked in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“The Nerazzurri have won games but have not always been convincing. Even managers like Antonio need time to get answers from the players. His ideas and skills cannot be doubted, we just need to give him a little time. ”

He then went on to share his belief that Italian clubs are at a disadvantage at the early stages of the Champions League group stages with the tournament set to begin in a few hours time.

“In the Champions League all the opponents are dangerous but in the beginning Italian teams are not in the best form and this is due to the later start of the league campaign compared to the rest of Europe.”
