Radja Nainggolan has spoken on his Inter exit this past Summer as part of an interview as part of DAZN show Linea Diletta but firstly spoke on the difference between Rome and Milan.

“In Rome they are much more friendly and playful and I like this because I want to do everyone well and for this reason I felt very good. Even the experience in Milan was quite positive for me, I joined an important club, had exceptional teammates and played in front of a support who dreamed of important things,” he said.

He then opened up on his Roma departure.

“If you look at my career, when I do well, I don’t want to go away but then there are things, particularly on a human level, that become problems. I didn’t want to leave Roma, not because I didn’t want to go to Inter but because I was so convinced by the project.

“In the end there are people who make you change your mind, I can’t stay when there is someone above me and you they do not even say good morning to you.”

He also shared his thoughts on Nicolo Barella, who joined Inter from Cagliari during the Summer.

“I would have liked to play with him because I believe he will become really strong. He is still to gain some international experience but it is normal for someone of his age. He does not have only one quality, he has many and all above average. By improving he can become an important player.”

He concluding by talking on his appreciation for how Antonio Conte treated him in their short time together before he left Inter.

“I would’ve liked to be coached by him: in a month I was able to appreciate his determination and ideas. He was very clear and straightforward, saying openly when something wasn’t right.

“Beppe Marotta never came to talk to me. They called me at the end of June telling me that I was no longer included in the project.

“During preseason, Conte took me aside to tell me he was crazy about me and also wanted me at Chelsea but that it was a decision made by the club and shared by him. He told me directly and right from the first day, and I appreciate people who tell you things to your face.”
