Inter head of youth development Roberto Samden has reflected on Inter Primavera’s performance in their 2-1 UEFA Youth League defeat away to Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund opened the scoring soon after the second half started and Inter would draw level through Edoardo Vergani on the hour mark but went on to concede once more just minutes later.

“The matches are always balanced in Europe, there are no easy games. The absence of those on national duty do not matter, we have a team that can afford to make up for the shortcomings. We played quite a subdued match where we only played well for the last 20 minutes,” he said in an interview with Inter TV.

“We are not happy with the performance. What lessons can we draw from this? Every game teaches something, especially in Europe where nothing can be taken for granted. The Youth League is fantastic because it makes you grow and we care about doing good in it. Now the chapter is closed, now we are preparing for the next match.”
