Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde’s uncertain future in charge of the reigning Spanish champions could have repercussions for Inter’s pursuit of top transfer target Arturo Vidal according to a report from Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Barcelona bosses are understood to be unhappy with the fact the side have been unable to win the new look Spanish Super Cup and if they were to sack Valverde, Vidal could be convinced to stay due to the fact he would no longer have to work with Valverde, who his relations have completely broken down with.

It is for this reason that Inter have upped the tempo in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen. Spurs want €20 million for the Danish international, whose contract is expiring at the end of the season, whilst Inter would like to spend less.

Inter could offer Matias Vecino as part of the deal but if this does not convince Spurs, Inter will have to hold more talks all while holding talks with the player’s agent.

Inter are working to try and bring Eriksen in this month but if unable to agree a deal with Spurs they could still agree terms with the player, who could join them on a free transfer in the Summer.
