Cagliari sporting director Mario Passetti has refused to rule out the possibility of Radja Nainggolan staying with the club on a permanent basis.

Nainggolan returned to the Sardinia based club on a season long loan from Inter this past Summer and has managed to find his best form again in a Rossoblu shirt after a largely disappointing season with Inter.

This has led to many reports suggesting Nainggolan could stay permanently whilst reports in the past few weeks have even suggested that Inter could be prepared to give him a second chance to prove himself next season.

“We will talk about it in a little while. Why not,” Passetti began when speaking in an interview with gathered reporters at the “Friend of children, an example for them” event on Tuesday night.

“His impact on the team is evident, he is having a great season. It was a complicated operation and a brilliant operation all done by President Giulini.”

The 31-year-old midfielder has made 22 appearances across all competitions. In 1763 minutes on the park, the former Roma player has scored five goals, including some trademark long range strikes. He has also provided his teammates with five assists to date this season.
