Former Inter defender Iván Córdoba remembered Nerazzurri legend Mario Corso in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.
Corso passed away in hospital peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 78. The Italian was a core part of Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter side and spent 16 years of his career in Milan with the Nerazzurri. He won four league titles, two European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups in that time, before spending the last two years of his career with Genoa.
Córdoba posted a photo of the duo alongside the caption: “Dear Mario, you’ve been a very special person to all of us. You’ve been a great champion and above all a great man, friend and confidant. We will always remember you with great affection. Bye Mario.”
