Cagliari are to try and keep on loan midfielder Radja Nainggolan at the club on a permanent basis according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Nainggolan was in fact the first person to suggest Eusebio Di Francesco should be appointed as the club’s new manager and Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini would like to keep Nainggolan at the club on a permanent basis and build the team around him.

Although Nainggolan’s salary is very high for Cagliari and reaching an agreement with Inter for the Belgian, who still has two years left to run on his contract with the Nerazzurri, Cagliari want to try and keep Nainggolan with the club.

Nainggolan returned to the Sardinia based club on a season long loan this past Summer and he made 29 appearances across all competitions during the 2019/20 season. In just under 2300 minutes on the park, Nainggolan scored six goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.
