Signing Lionel Messi would cost Inter a sum of around €500 million over a three year period according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Messi’s future with Barcelona is far from certain right now and the report explains that Inter have been working on signing Messi in silence for some time now.

Inter hope to be able to take advantage of each and every relationship that they have in finance and fashion as the Inter owning Zhang family want to bring him to the club.

Between a transfer fee and wages, the report estimates that it would cost Inter around €500 million if he were to sign a three year contract with the club.

Messi is still under contract with Barcelona until the end of the upcoming season but the fact he has bought property in Milan certainly cannot be understimated.

He earns €110 million gross in wages per year from the deal which also includes a €700 million release clause in it. There is no certainty with regard to when said clause expires and the report states that Messi could free himself for free.
