Fans of the 20 Serie A clubs will not be in the stadiums for the 2020/21 Serie A season commencing in just under three weeks time according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian football federation, FIGC, hope to be able to welcome fans back into stadiums across the countries in October because now there is currently too much skepticism regarding letting fans in at the moment.
The report from the Milan based news outlet explains that as things stand, FIGC are currently continuing to monitor the epidemiological curve and are focused on getting youth football back up and running.
The 2020/21 Serie A season is due to get underway over the weekend of September 19 and 20. Some countries elsewhere in Europe, including France and Germany, have had some matches played with fans socially distanced in the stadiums as football looks to return to normality after the COVID-19 global pandemic.
