Legendary Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga has shared his belief that Radja Nainggolan can still do very well at Inter having returned to the club.

Nainggolan spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Cagliari and worked under Zenga, who has since been replacd by Eusebio Di Francesco, at the Sardegna Arena.

“Radja was a fundamental player for Cagliari who lose a lot without him, despite the fact that the Sardinians already have strong players with a quality midfield. Having said that, I have coached him and Radja is a strong player who is at Inter and he could still do very well,” Zenga explained during an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio’s show CalcioMercato – L’Originale, which was broadcast late Tuesday night.

Zenga then commented on the probable arrival of Arturo Vidal at Inter and how that could affect things for Nainggolan.

“Having someone like Nainggolan and signing someone like Vidal, I don’t know. It seems to me that they are two very similar players. In my opinion Cagliari will try to sign Nainggolan until the end.”

Zenga was then asked if he still dreams of one day managing Inter.

“In the meantime, Luci a San Siro is a bit like the song of my life because being from Milan this song has accompanied me so much.

“There is a condition in life that must not never fail and that is passion. If you don’t put passion into everything you do it’s better to retire. I have always done my job with passion, I love football because I have always lived for football, I never used it to live. when I have the strength, I will go on.”

The now 60-year-old started his playing career with Inter and played for the club between 1978 and 1994. He is widely regarded as one of Inter’s greatest ever goalkeepers and is part of the club’s Hall of Fame. During his time with the club Zenga made just shy of 500 appearances across all competitions.
