It is now or never for Inter to prove that they have what it takes to be one of the great teams according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

In order to play with the greats, Inter must prove that they themselves are a great team. For too many years now Inter have spoken about wanting to be great again and tonight’s UEFA Champions League group stage match with Real Madrid is an opportunity for the Nerazzurri to show that they can really aspire to something or not.

Inter have not made it past the Champions League group stage in eight seasons and part of the reason for that is the missing factor, which is a winning mentality.

Coaches, directors, presidents and players have changed but Inter have not made the leap. It now remains to be understood whether it is down to the business in the most recent transfer window which was done through need rather than real choices or if Inter are like Inter of old and it is difficult to win even for someone like Conte who has had success everywhere he has been.
