FC Cincinnati are prepared to offer Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez close to €10 million a year to convince him to join them over other interested clubs according to an Italian media report today.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition, the MLS franchise are ready to offer the 32-year-old Argentine €8 million a year and have also offered Atalanta €6 million for the former Catania player.
The salary offered would make Gomez the highest paid player in MLS at the moment if he were to accept the offer from the Ohio based club, who were formed in 2018 and played their first game in MLS in 2019.
FC Cincinnati are not alone in courting him however with Sevilla also very keen on signing him and the player would gladly agree to a move to Andalusia as he would be able to play in continental competition which would help his case for involvement with the Argentine national team.
Sevilla are ready to offer Atalanta €4 million for the player and are willing to give him an annual salary of €3 million.
Inter have also been strongly linked with signing him in recent weeks.
