As Inter’s players gathered together to celebrate their Scudetto triumph in the middle of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza pitch yesterday, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez were conspicuous by their absence.

The Nerazzurri were crowned league champions last Sunday and took the opportunity to party in the centre-circle after a comprehensive 5-1 win over Sampdoria, their first match since winning the title.

According to FCInter1908.it, a spontaneous celebration broke out on the pitch as the players sang and enjoyed their triumph, but fans noticed the absence of Lukaku and Sanchez from the group, despite the latter scoring a brace in the win.

However, as the celebrations were unplanned, the pair had already returned to the dressing room following the match and missed out on the party atmosphere, along with some of the other players.

Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella was thought to be the instigator of the celebrations and led the chanting on the pitch.
