Danilo D’Ambrosio wants to stay at Inter but not at the conditions he is being offered, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per NerazzurriSiamoNoi.it, D’Ambrosio is out of contract at the end of this season and has a big decision to make regarding his future.

The defender is very happy with life at Inter, while his family are comfortable living in Milan, but he would have to take a big pay cut if he were to stay.

Inter have offered D’Ambrosio a new contract, but the 32-year-old’s wages would drop from €2.4 million annually to €1.3 million with his new deal.

D’Ambrosio is not convinced by this offer and nor is his agent, which has led to speculation linking him with Napoli, Lazio, Fiorentina and AC Milan.

Inter have an option to extend D’Ambrosio’s current contract by another season, but the Nerazzurri are unwilling to do this because of their need to cut costs and reduce their wage bill.

As reported by The Laziali earlier today, it seems likely that Lazio and AC Milan will emerge as the two main contenders to sign D’Ambrosio if he rejects Inter’s contract offer.
