Fiorentina are ready to step up their pursuit of Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi, with the player a top target for new La Viola coach Vincenzo Italiano.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who claim that the player would be open to a move to the Tuscan club.

La Viola had been credited with an interest in the player earlier in the window, but their transfer plans became unclear after the sudden departure of Gennaro Gattuso as head coach.

However, with former Spezia boss Italiano brought in as Gattuso’s replacement, it appears that the club’s interest in Sensi is stronger than ever, with the 25-year-old seen as the perfect profile to strengthen in midfield for the new manager.

Fiorentina are thought to be considering their options to try and move for the player, with the Nerazzurri still not ready to negotiate for his sale, but the player reportedly is open to a move, something which could work in La Viola’s favour.

It remains to be seen whether La Viola’s interest will materialize as a serious offer, but for now they can be understood as serious about trying to sign the 25-year-old.
