The president of Turkish club Trabzonspor has played down speculation that Dalbert is very close to becoming their new left-back, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCINternews when they asked the president for comment, there are multiple players that could join the club instead of Dalbert and the situation is not as developed as some Italian reports suggest.

“He is one of the players in that role we are considering. There are three candidates.”

Whilst the deal does not seem close, Ahmet Ağaoğlu did confirm that discussions are ongoing and that formal contact has been made between the two clubs.

“We are in contact with him and we are negotiating. But nothing is decided.”

The Brazilian left-back joined Inter in 2017 but has never managed to secure a place in the first team. With Inter needing to sell as many fringe players as possible to fund other deal, the Nerazzurri are hoping he will leave soon.

The deal with Trabzonspor would likely be a one-year loan with an obligation to buy the player at the end of the 2021/22 season.
