Inter right-back Matteo Darmian has explained that the situation at Inter is good and everyone is eager to get started, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Whilst speaking to the club’s official channel, Inter TV, the ex-Manchester United defender expressed happiness and excitement at his opening few days with the squad at Appiano Gentile, Inter’s pre-season training hub.

“The sensations are good and positive, all the conditions are in place to work in the best possible way.”

The ex-Torino man was also very aware, however, that it will be a long and tough season as everyone will be chasing them as they are now defending their first Serie A title since 2009/10 when Jose Mourinho was in charge.

“we will try to understand what they [the coaches] want from the very first days because the season will be long and we will try to prepare it as best we can.”

Inter will also be hoping to get out of the Champions League group stages this season as they have failed to do on their last three appearances in Europe’s elite club competition.

Matteo Darmian pitched in with two key winning goals towards the end of the 2020/21 season that helped secure the title.
