Inter have identified Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata as their first-choice option to replace Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian be sold to Chelsea.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Colombian is admired by the Nerazzurri, and that they would move for him as a direct replacement for Lukaku.

Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Lukaku in recent days, and could look to have the Belgian’s signing wrapped up soon with a financial offer which the Nerazzurri and the player are not able to turn down.

Should the 28-year-old be sold, the Nerazzurri are planning for life without him, and have looked to Atalanta’s Zapata as the successor with the right qualities to take over from him.

The 30-year-old would not come cheap, but the Nerazzurri could see his arrival as the best option to make up for the loss of Lukaku’s important presence on the pitch.
