Inter will decide on whether or not to bring in Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez after wrapping up the transfer of PSV’s Denzel Dumfries.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri’s priority is a move for Dumfries, and that they will return to negotiations with Cagliari for Nandez afterwards.

After having appeared close to a move for Nandez earlier in the window, talks with the Rossoblu have stalled, and the Nerazzurri’s situation has changed to prioritizing a move for their first-choice target Dumfries on the right.

The Dutchman’s arrival will not necessarily preclude a move for Nandez, with the versatile Uruguayan having been seen as a potential replacement for Achraf Hakimi as well, but Inter will only do a deal on the conditions originally agreed with the Rossoblu.

This means that they would like to take the 25-year-old on a paid loan initially, with an option to buy him on a permanent basis.

It remains to be seen whether the Sardinian club would be amenable to this formula, with Radja Nainggolan’s move the other way also bound up in these talks, but should an agreement prove impossible to reach for Nandez the Nerazzurri will be happy with Dumfries on the right.
